About Know Your Label
What is Know Your Label (KYL)?
Know Your Label (KYL) is an Android app by Hariom Lohar that uses AI to help you understand food labels and check ingredients against saved allergies and dietary preferences.
How does the AI food label scanner work?
Take or upload a photo of a food label. KYL analyzes the ingredients and nutrition, explains food scores and concerns, and shows the evidence it read from the photo. You can ask follow-up questions about the analyzed product.
Can KYL check ingredients against my allergies and diet?
Yes. Choose an existing allergy or diet profile, or describe custom needs with AI assistance. KYL highlights possible conflicts between the ingredients it reads and your saved profile.
Can Know Your Label confirm that food is allergy-safe?
No. The app assists with label reading; a photo cannot confirm that food is allergy-safe. Its results reflect the evidence read from the photo.
Is Know Your Label available for iPhone?
Know Your Label is available for Android only for now. An iPhone or iOS version has not been announced here.
Where do I download the latest KYL APK?
Use Download for Android on this page. It checks the newest published GitHub release, including prereleases, and downloads its universal APK. The universal build includes the available Android architectures, so you do not need to choose an ABI.
What if my label photo is blurry or has glare?
KYL checks lighting, blur, and glare and explains when a food label needs another photo.
Who built Know Your Label?
Know Your Label was built by Hariom Lohar, whose GitHub handle is hariomlohardev. The official app page is part of his portfolio, and Android APK releases are published in the hariomlohardev/kyl-apks repository.
